Irresistible

Once upon a time there was a version of our faith that was practically Irresistible. But that was then. Today, an increasing number of people claim that Christianity is harmful to our society. “The Bible says. . .” doesn’t carry the weight it once did, and thanks to our digital world, folks know “what else” the Bible says without ever picking up a Bible.

What You'll Discover

During this six-week virtual, video study by author and church leader, Andy Stanley, you will:
  • Examine the faith modeled by our first century brothers and sisters, who had no "official" Bible
  • Compare the way we preach, teach, write, and communicate our faith with that of the first century church
  • Be invited to embrace the version of faith, that against all odds, initiated a chain of events that resulted in the most significant and extensive cultural transformation the world has ever seen
  • Identify the faith that made Christianity compelling, defensible, and irresistible

Weekly Topics

  • Week 1: Simply Irresistible
  • Week 2: Brand - New Agreement
  • Week 3: The Bible According to Jesus
  • Week 4: The Irresistible Ethic
  • Week 5: What Love Requires
  • Week 6: The New Approach

Information & Cost

  • Cost: $15.00
  • Date(s): Wednesdays, September 16th - October 21st
  • Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Leader(s): Tim Raimer & Dave McMurtry

Misreading Scripture

During this five-week intermediate level, virtual study on Zoom, you will:
  • Recognize that passages written in an (ancient) Eastern culture are read differently in our Western culture
  • Contrast the Eastern and Western cultural reading of the Bible
  • Analyze several well-known passages from an (ancient) Eastern cultural viewpoint
  • Utilize a number of online tools that enhance the Eastern cultural viewpoint of the Bible

Weekly Topics

  • Week 1: Embrace Complexity
  • Week 2: Beware of Overcorrection
  • Week 3: Be Teachable
  • Week 4: Embrace Error
  • Week 5: Read Together
